During the first few months of the pandemic when the lodge had very few guests, our team at Tintswalo Atlantic decided to do a long-planned renovation that we knew would add something very special to the guest experience at Tintswalo.
In the past, the main restaurant and lounge have provided a space for both lodge guests and daily restaurant patrons to enjoy sundowners, eat meals and relax and enjoy the view of the ocean. But the team at Atlantic wanted to create a unique space that was exclusive to guests; a lounge and deck where residents of the lodge could relax and enjoy the tranquil beauty of the coast, away from the comings and goings of the main restaurant.
And so that's exactly what we did. The Residents' Lounge at Tintswalo Atlantic was born.

To create the lounge, we adapted two of the suites closest to the pool which enjoy an elevated view of the sea and the shade of big milkwood trees. Having joined the two rooms to create an open space lounge with comfortable couches and bar areas; we also built an extended deck that flows toward the pool boardwalk; a calm space space that is now perfectly positioned to enjoy the coastal views and natural surroundings of Hout Bay and Table Mountain.
At the Residents' Lounge, guests can relax on the deck, enjoy drinks on the couches, have a cocktail at the bar; or simply lounge by the pool before heading over to the main Chef’s Warehouse restaurant for meals. The residence lounge is a tucked-away nook at Tintswalo and the team are so excited to introduce the space to both new and regular guests in the months ahead.
