The Mary Rose was a heavily-armed carracks warship built in 1511. A valiant battle vessel, she fought in many marine wars against the French between 1512 and 1545, but the Mary Rose is perhaps most known for her untimely demise in the Solent waters, where she inexplicably tipped over mid-battle, and sank.
